I use a Metro expansion bottle as well as most of its pipes and hoses.

I always favoured the Allegro plastic type.
Compact and easy to mount.
They may be a bit thin on the ground now though. |

I have a similar expansion bottle to John, but in brass. I got it from ebay, if you search for "MGB expansion tank" there are a few examples on there. |

Early land rover 110/90's have a horizontal brass version of John's but with a larger lower port (around 1/2") Mike |

Thats great, thanks as always. Will get shopping! Another potentially simple question, however with the cinq rad will i need to use the bleed outlet? I have the thermostat housing that has the bleed take off...? Is there such thing as a plumbing diagram showing where everything needs to go to / from?! Cheers, |

Out of the water pump t off to the bottom of the expansion tank then off to the radiator. From the thermostat housing main feed to the radiator with a small pipe to the top of the expansion tank. Expansion tank mounted above the height of both the therostat and radiator. If you are racing a blleed off the expansion tank neck below the cap to a 1.275 litre container for overflow. Otherwise into the atmosphere but away from the brakes! |
