Hmm...did some web searching; I can't tell for sure, but it was red like one. From your response, I'm assuming they're not common, which I wasn't aware of. Oops, don't know what to say! . If it isn't one, at least I can say when this car gets here and complete, I plan to finish off the model with a cleaner coat of paint, and fix the stripes, and have it as a display still.
I was really in need of some sort of model to try out the colors, since my new shell is going to get colored/gelcoated in the UK and shipped to me. My first 2 color ideas turned out bad when put into 3d.
Does someone happen to have a 3d printer model for these cars? Or anything else 3d?

Few small updates:
My dad and I scored some workspace for the car projects we have. Our city is very strict about working on cars at home, and we can't work in the driveway. My small 1car garage is too small to work in it with the door closed. So, we found, a few blocks away, a pair of 8' x 45' cargo containers that are linked together. This should work for our 3 current projects (the Marcos mk6 -- to be a weekend driver for myself, a '65 Corvair race car for the 24 Hours of LeMons -- an endurance race for cars totaling $500 or less in cost; http://lemons.zerobelow.org, and a '31 LaSalle full restoration -- to be a weekend driver for my dad; http://31lasalle.com). It's going to be a bit cramped inside, but it's in a big parking lot, and we're allowed to do work outside as well, on a limited basis.
The Marcos garage will be starting on my mk6 shell on March 12. Whenever they finish it, it will spend a month at sea, before I get it. I'm hoping to get it sometime in May. They're working on another (non-mini-marcos) shell until March 12, and have been for a couple weeks now.
I recently took a 3d printing class and can get access to 3d printers -- so hopefully when I get my car, I can make a digital model of it, and make some little plastic models of it. |

Got an email from Emily at the heritage garage. "The undertray is now finished with all metals (not shown on the earlier photo), and we are well on the way to laying up the body." |

I'll be monitoring this one. I am also strongly considering a Mini Marcos kit as my next Mini project. It would be another one destined for USA - south Texas.

It's looking like the completion date for my shell should be the week of May 28. Then there'll be a month at sea.
As a side note, I realized that I previously posted that I had some workspace to work on the car...well, the renter backed out, and we're short of work space. I've made tons of progress cleaning out the garage at my place, and hopefully will have room for this build there (the garage was a 1 car garage, but was made shorter and narrower by other modifications to the house, but will just fit the marcos with room to walk around at least one side. I don't think a normal car would fit in there... |

And sorry for doing it as separate posts -- it seems to only let me upload one picture per posting.
Anyways, I'm scheduling the shippers to pick it up with a window of May 29 or May 30. It'll spend some time getting crated, then spend a month at sea to get here. |
